    The refrigeration unit may not cool for a number of reasons, as listed below. Check each of them in turn.

    1. The “Vacation” mode is set

    “Vacation” mode turns off the fridge compartment. When the mode is on, this icon icon on the refrigerator's display or this icon icon on the fridge's display is displayed on the refrigerator’s display.

    “Vacation” mode is only available on refrigerators with displays.

    The “Vacation” mode is unavailable on refrigerators with a top freezer compartment.

    If your refrigerator is in “Vacation” mode, turn it off. Press the “Vacation” button; the icon should disappear from the display.

    If, after turning off “Vacation” mode, the fridge chamber works, then there is nothing wrong with your refrigerator; continue to use it.

    If after turning off “Vacation” mode, the refrigerator does not work or the mode is not turned on, proceed to the next recommendation.

    2. The ventilation system is clogged with ice

    If the voltage is unstable or the door is opened frequently, ice forms behind the rear wall, blocking the ventilation holes. This prevents cold air from entering the chamber and causes the temperature inside the chamber to rise.

    To eliminate this possibility, defrost your refrigerator and leave it with the doors open for 24 hours. After that, turn on your refrigerator and check its operation. If the fridge chamber works after defrosting, then there is nothing wrong with your refrigerator, and you can continue to use it.

    If your Samsung fridge not cooling after defrosting, proceed to the next recommendation.

    3. Failure of the fridge

    If the previous recommendations did not help, it means that the refrigerator is defective. It is impossible to determine the malfunction at home without special knowledge so you will need the help of a Samsung refrigerator repairman.

    The freezer may not cool food for a number of reasons, as listed below.

    The reasons

    • The refrigerator has turned off;
    • The first start-up of a new refrigerator or start-up after complete defrosting;
    • Temporary power outage;
    • Refrigerator with Smart Conversion technology;
    • Contamination or ice on the openings through which cold air enters the freezer compartment;
    • The refrigerator is installed in a room that does not meet its climate class.

    What to do

    Check if the light comes on when you open the refrigerator door. If there is no light in the refrigerator compartment, it could be caused by the following:

    1. The refrigerator is not plugged in;
    2. The “Power” button is in the “off” position (not all refrigerator models, check the user manual for availability);
    3. There is no electricity in the house, or it is unstable;
    4. The power cord or outlet is damaged.

    If your refrigerator is on and there is nothing wrong with the power grid, contact a refrigerator repair service to diagnose the operation of the device.

    Please note

    • The first time you turn on your new refrigerator, it takes 6-8 hours to reach temperature.
    • If you did a full defrost, it takes time for the refrigerator to cool down.
    • If you have had a power outage at home for an extended period of time, the refrigerator may not have turned on correctly.
    • Restart your refrigerator by unplugging it for 10 minutes. Then plug it directly into the socket (without an extension cord), and set the desired temperature (by default, +3°C and -19°C). The freezer compartment will be the first to cool down.
    • If the freezer compartment has the required temperature in 5-6 hours after restarting, the refrigerator is working normally.
    • If the restart did not help and the freezer still does not cool – contact a Samsung appliance repairman.

    Some RT, BRB and RF refrigerators with Smart Conversion technology can be set to different operating modes. Please refer to your refrigerator manual to check if this feature is available.

    You may have a mode where the freezer compartment is switched off or operates as a refrigerator compartment. You can read how to set the desired mode in your refrigerator’s owner’s manual.

    Remove all drawers and inspect the holes in the back of the freezer that allows cold air to enter the freezer. If the air ducts are dirty or full of ice, defrost the refrigerator completely and flush the freezer compartment.

    Samsung fridge freezer not cooling properly

    The refrigerator must be installed in a room that conforms to its climate class. If the refrigerator is installed in a room with a temperature above or below the permissible temperature range, it may not operate properly. The standard operating range is +10°C to +43°C. Please refer to the owner’s manual for the operating range for your fridge model.

    If you have followed all the previous recommendations, but the freezer still does not cool your food, we recommend contacting an appliance repair expert.
